I do not know why I received and invitation to participate, but it is apropos to my current circumstance, so I will. Three years ago I was undergoing a double grief experience, brother and companion. The companion had given me a book on Amer. Presidents shortly before he passed. Grief-stricken, I stayed in bed when I wasn't working and read. The book on presidents, had several pages that kept "calling to me." I was drawn--could not leave them alone. I write in my spare time and had several writing projects I was in the middle of and not looking for another. This president from the 1800s would not leave me alone. I read many biographies of this tragic man. I was convinced he was a very unsettled soul. I started trying to communicate with him using things such as pendulums. Stories about him kept popping into my head. I got out pen and paper and began writing them down--they came like automatic writing. The stories are about maybe the way he would have liked to have lived his life instead of the way he actually did. I have completed a 350+ page book on the subject, and now I am having to say goodbye to him, in a way. I do not want him to go and think he will always be near. Throughout the writing of the book, he would nudge me on and give me signs and signals, especially if I was stuck on something. I am not a supernatural fanatic. I am not a total skeptic, either. I have had visitations from several departed persons throughout my life--I worked in nursing homes and witnessed the dying saying their already-passed loved ones were in the room waiting to take them home. In all of my experiences I have never felt anything this strong, and I am convinced this man wanted me to write this book. There is my story as unbelievable as it sounds.
